It takes a lot of work and time to gather all the information about our education, work experience, interests and courses we have taken and put it all together in a concise and at the same time attractive CV. It is also very easy to make mistakes or omissions. Therefore, before you decide to send your CV and apply for a job offer, take an extra 10 minutes to finalise your document. What is worth paying attention to again?

Carefully read the advert you are applying for

Carefully read the job advert you are applying for and check how the work experience described in your CV relates to that particular offer. It may be worth naming certain tasks according to the nomenclature used in the ad. This will ensure that you are sure you meet the requirements for the position.

Check your CV for errors

Once again, carefully review your CV for any typos, spelling or punctuation errors. It is also a good idea to ensure that the font is consistent (you may have previously copied something from another source) and that the text is formatted correctly. It is also very important to check that your contact details are correct. Contrary to what you may think, these types of errors are a very common bane of recruiters. Eliminating them will present you as a reliable and professional person right from the very beginning of the recruitment process.

3. check your consent to the processing of personal data

It is very important that you include an up-to-date clause in your CV agreeing to the processing of your personal data by the employer. This clause is a requirement of Polish law and without it the employer will not be able to include you in the recruitment process and its subsequent stages. Very often in the advertisement employers indicate to add a clause to the CV that is tailored to the needs of their organisation - then such information should be included in the CV.

4 Check the format of the file

Pay attention to how you name your CV file - avoid using just the word 'CV' it is a good idea to add your first and last name e.g. 'CV_Jan Mrkva', which will undoubtedly make it easier for recruiters to find your application later on in a jumble of other CVs. It's also a good idea to save the file in PDF format so that it can be opened on any device - laptop, smartphone, etc.
